january...

january has been full of snow, snow, snow and now ice, ice, ice. we have gone sledding, made snow ice cream and spent more days watching movies than probably all the past winters combined. i have loved every single second of it. minus being snowed in. i do not like to be stranded at home. chase has had to shovel the snow off our house a couple times. a few neighbors have had leaks into their homes from ice build up on their roof. he spent a few nights knocking down icicles and trying to clear the ice out of the gutters. one night he decided to take down the beast of an icicle. our Christmas lights are still up since we cant get them off. turns out the icicle was frozen onto the lights and when he pushed it off the edge it took the lights with it. snapping the electrical cord right in half and dangling live wire in front of his face while standing on a snowy watery roof. it also ripped the cord off the lights leaving the actual color bulbs frozen in the snow on the roof. score. we laughed and laughed about how deadly that could of been. thank goodness for live pictures and getting this somehow on camera.... good bye Christmas lights. it made the upstairs lights go dark instantly.

the boys also started basketball this month, they get to play on the same team this year and it is so fun to watch them. tegan has becoming a good little offensive player and burke is amazing at defense. he may foul a wee bit but his guy DOES NOT GET THE BALL.
burke had a school project last week. he had to make an ice igloo. then while at school they were going to put ice cubes inside of them and sees who's ice cube stays frozen the longest. him and chase had fun making it together. sugar cubes for the win. his lasted almost 6 hours! he was so proud of his igloo.

 i love these little midgets.
