my blog is my journal. I print out each year in a hard covered book and I keep those books safe. I love to be able to look back and see exactly what happened at a certain point of our lives. I want all the memories for my kiddos. so when I got a new phone a few months ago and it refuses to plug into my computer and download my pictures I take I wanted to cry. how can I blog without my pictures. I have been so frustrated, even contemplated buying a new computer, because that would be the simplest and cheapest fix, (insert eye roll) but then my smart husband said why don't you use the laptop. duh. so hallelujah. maybe one day ill figure out how to get my photos onto my computer again.
since august lots of things have happened. the biggest of them all was we moved into our new home mid october. we LOVE it. it has been a fun change. the kiddos started their new school a few weeks after moving in. the boys loved it from day one and have never looked back. mya has been sad about it all. the move. the new school and having her own room, rough life I know, but she is finally coming around and i don't have to fight with her about going to school everyday anymore, maybe just every other day.
first day at Mary McPherson. tegan is in second grade with mrs. janzen.
burke is in first with ms. durkin.
mya is in afternoon kindergarten with mrs. grayson.
before we switched schools both of the boys got awards at their school assembly. its so fun to watch how excited they get when the get recognized. i love my dudes.
back in September over labor day weekend we took a trip to Rupert to help with the house and hang out on the farm. we stopped along the way at the sand dunes. the kids loved all the sand. they had a ball rolling down the dunes. I refused to let them come into the trailer all sandy so they had to go and shower at the public camping place before we came in at night. such a winner mom I am. but it was a win win. less clean up for me and I still got clean nice smelling kids to sleep next too. while we were in Rupert we got to go gleaning and find all the extra potatoes in the fields that the harvest missed. the kids loved it, they tried to find all the mutated ones. we came home with the biggest bag of potatoes. chase could barely carry it.
chase is now 31. what an old man. I cant even remember what we did for his birthday or what we got him but whatever it was I am sure it was AWESOME.
chase and I went to las vegas for a quick weekend get away the end of September. its always fun to be able to go down there and attend a few shows. this time the trip was for chase to check in at his project down there and also to see logan get his white coat. my parents and jared were there too. I helped decorate brit and logans apartment. we went to top golf. chris angel. a few shopping malls. the white coat ceremony then flew home.
football came and went. both boys loved it and they both had good seasons. I am not sure if tegan will do tackle again next year. he enjoyed watching burke only practice once a week and play flag on a chill team with a chill coach who didn't constantly freak out. unless he grows a ton in the next few months, he didn't love being the smallest one on his team. and I am fine with flag. I love watching them be active. I don't care what sport they play... unless its baseball. seems real boring to watch.
jared got his mission call the beginning of October. he has been called to serve in the Monterrey mexico mission speaking spanish and he leaves jan 31. we only have one more month left with the kid. he will be such a good missionary. no one even guessed mexico! when he opened his call and read it he looked so surprised. I was really hoping he was going to go to Switzerland or Iceland.. somewhere that would be awesome to travel too to pick him but I guess mexico will do. Monterrey is suppose to be a huge city with a lot of wealthy Mexicans living there so it should be interesting. we hear it is either very rich or very very poor.
Halloween was a party. we moved into our house a week before Halloween, we even managed to get a few pumpkins and carve them for our new front porch and since our subdivision is new there aren't very many houses around so we went to Tuscany and trick or treated with the vargas clan. the kids had a blast running from house to house. the literally sprinted for over 2 hours, house to house. they are crazy. ayla and bella enjoyed trick or treating for a while then sitting in the wagon being pulled around and chowin on candy.
burke turned 7!!!! we spent the week celebrating that kid. he got to take treats into his class before we moved then also again at his new school. he loved being able to double do it. he went shopping with grandma sherrie and she hooked him up with Pokémon cards and all sorts of buffalo bills gear. he loves Pokémon right now. his favorite team is the buffalo bills. the kid drinks his body weight in liquid. he doesn't have a favorite food. he hates every meal I make or wherever we go out to eat, yet he eats every bite and usually even wants more.
thanksgiving was spent with my family. we ate a yummy dinner, then the girls all left to go shopping. black Friday shopping is a tradition and we enjoy going out even if there isn't anything we are needing. I got deathly illin the midst of our shopping from eating something I guess I am allergic to. the cause is still to be determined but my theory is the olives... my throat freaked out like it use to. I lost my voice and couldn't talk for days and had a sore throat for over 2 weeks. glad that's over with. lets hope it never comes back. I can no longer eat fresh fruit, nuts or I guess now olives. its getting ridiculous.
this girl never falls asleep and she was passed out on the couch the day after thanksgiving. too much fun for her.
burke received an award at school after only being there for one month. that kid is awesome and I love that everyone else sees it too. he is brilliant. smart as they come, but is also so caring and kind. I am glad he has adjusted so well to his new surroundings. we are quite proud of him.
first grade had a music program. they did such a good job. it was fun to see him in his new class and get to know some of his new buddies.
december was so much fun. we started the month off by getting our Christmas tree. we went up to Idaho city, found the perfect tree and brought it home. I had a hard time trying to find a spot for my tree in my new house. it sure was fun to decorate for the holidays here but I have found out that this house is hard to decorate. most of the walls are windows. and if they aren't windows they are very small walls and nothing fits. no room for pictures or bookshelves. its so strange. so many of my decorations are still boxed and will probably never be used again. its so depressing to me.
last month the kids wrote letters to santa, we decorated gingerbread houses, I shopped all month trying to find the perfect gifts. we went to chases work party and gambled the night away. we went and talked with santa, the REAL santa according to tegan. we have gone sledding and hookey bobbing more times than I can count. we have more snow than we have ever had before. it has all been so fun. chase was off from the 23 of december to jan 3. so we had time to relax, hang out and be together as a family. I LOVE Christmas time.
