summer came and went insanely quick this year. i feel like we blinked and it was over. as the kids get older i have noticed that i have started to panic more and more about the time we have left with them. the summers we have left to hang out with them. they are starting to want to be with friends more and leave us behind a little more. more and more evenings are starting to be spent hanging out with friends than being cuddled up on the couch watching movies or playing kickball in us parents in the backyard. which is good and needs to be done but it also means change and sometimes change can be hard. it's a good thing we still have ayla. she is still quite the little cuddle buddy! we are soaking in every last little trip and summer night we get to spend with these kiddos, its crazy to think the 3 big kids are well over half of their summers spent at home with us. so needless to say we lived this summer up!
we said good bye to the vargas's. off to puerto rico they went.

little miss scottie entered the world at the end of june. prior to her entering the world we learning that brit has a mass attach to the inside of her hip. (making delivery impossible, so she had a c-section) after visiting with many doctors in the area and learning more about the mass and all that it entails over (which still is almost nothing, no one knows what it is, no one know anything, the biopsy and many many tests and scans are still inconclusive, they have sent it all to UCLA, Stanford and many other places and no one knows what it is) over the last few months her team of doctors here have decided the best course of treatment for her is to send her to the Mayo clinic in rochester, minnesota to get the tumor taken out there. they just simply can not do it here. its too invasive, to hard and too complicated. the surgery will happen october 13. will be long 8-9 hours and very intense but she will be in the best of hands and we have the best of hope for a good outcome for her, nothing yet to tell us otherwise. and we will be here rooting her on taking care of her sweet little babies waiting for her return. her recovery will be a long long road but she's got this!
the beginning of july we celebrated the fourth of july. we started a day early in front of our homes with the eggintons. that turned out to come to an end quickly when the police showed up and shut us down. he was a cool guy though and kindly asked us to stop and if we didn't then he would issue us a citation. the best part was benny yelling, "cops run away" the entire time the cop was talking to us. and jared very happily and giddily lighting a huge firework off saying "i'm going to explode this one over this car" which turned out to be the cop driving up the road to talk to us. it was rather hilarious and we are sure happy we are lucky and got a cool guy. we spent the actual fourth at the katseanas's lightening more fireworks and having lots and lots of fun with friends. no trip to rupert this year with everything that was going to on with brit.
