we planned to go get our christmas tree this year with the fullers on the first weekend in december. the night before our adventure ayla came down with the flu. part of me thought we should cancel since she was so miserable and we were up ALL NIGHT LONG buuuutttt i do have three other kids who were pumped to go get a tree and we do need a christmas tree so we loaded her up in her pajamas and away we went. i sat in the back next to her holding her barf bowl and rubbing her head the entire drive. she threw up a few times on the way up to idaho city but then she finally fell asleep and slept for a couple hours while we made a fire, ate lunch and searched for our tree. when she woke up she had a little spark of life in her and she even wanted to hop in her pack and go cut down our tree with us. poor girl but she was such a trooper. there was no snow this year which was so crazy since last year we were sinking down into our knees in snow getting our tree in the exact same spot but we enjoyed the change up this year, the warm weather, cutting down our tree in just hoodies and sitting around the campfire eating hot dogs and having smores.
