we took the kids to a live nativity put on by the seventh day adventist church. it was amazing! they had you travel around as if you were a person traveling to Bethlehem to be taxed, they gave everyone a couple pennies before your tour started so you could pay those that needed to be paid. it was all set up outside and it took about 30 minutes to get through. they had soliders and beggers, animals and of course a stable with joseph, mary and baby jesus. it was awesome and so fun for the kids to be able to understand the real meaning of christmas a little better.
we had our annual gingerbread party with the vargas family. the kids all exchanged their gifts, we made them marshmallow guns and they gave our kids rice bags. tegan said he cant wait to get another ear infection so then he can use it... uhhhh, horrible idea tego. i told him to just go ahead and warm it up and use it now, lets not hope for pain and sickness in order to use it. silly boy.
tonya and i heard of the best way to make your houses stay together, melt down sugar to liquid. turned out it wasnt as easy as we thought so we both took charge of dipping the graham cracker ends into the burning hot liquid and putting them together so the kids didnt have to and we both walked away with a burn on the same fingers that are now a blister the size of a dime and are oozing and bleeding. buuutttt, those houses could withstand an earthquake so i guess it worked!
