tree cutting 2018...

saturday morning we woke up and i felt good enough to go for a little drive to get us our christmas tree. we left early with the fuller fam expecting maybe a skiff of snow at the most and instead when we got there there was about 8 inches of snow. we even got stuck for a good half hour driving up there in a snow bank. we were not prepared to trek through that much snow. good thing i had the kids bundle up with layers before we left. they survived longer then i thought they would. we were up there for hours hiking around, having snow ball fights and finding the perfect tree. once the kids tears started flowing we chopped our trees down and hiked out. back at the cars we had a fire going to help warm us up and attempt to dry the kids out. we roasted some hot dogs and marshmallows, drank some hot choco and loaded up to come home. it was a fun day in the mountains... next year we pack snow clothes no matter what.
