ONE WEEK, and a day of school is left! i can not wait for summer break, ask me again how i feel about it in a month, i can not wait for no schedules, no bed times and no wake up times. i have been having to drag the boys out of bed in the mornings for school and the girls have been sleeping in until 9:30 or 10. its a weird hour with nothing to do between 8:20 and when the girls get up. we will be able to hang at the pool. go camping. cabin trips and be able to do what we want to, when we want to.
with school winding down the kiddos have been busy with field trips and projects. tegan's class went to the watershed a few weeks ago, burke's class went to the MK nature center and on friday mya's class will be going to the Discovery Center and the zoo. she is thrilled to be able to go to school all day. her field trip starts at 9 and ends at 2! i told her it will be good practice for next year. burke had a big end of the year project due last week. he did his project on a hummingbird. he had to present to all the parents all the facts he learned and had a lot of his part memorized. he did great!
tegan was so excited the other day when he got home from school. he made the 100 mile club this year! amazing for only starting mid novemeber, when we moved, and having to deal with all the winter months. i am impressed. he set that goal and he did it! he gets to go to a 100 mile club party during last two hours of school tomorrow where they eat pizza and play games. a couple weeks ago his school did a fun run during lunch. he ran 23 laps in 35 minutes! 4 laps per mile. so about 5.5 miles in about 35 minutes, i was amazed! the kid is a RUNNER! he did not get that from me. i loved cheering him on. he was sooooo excited with his results and he may or may not of looked like he wanted to pass out. cant blame him. i would too.
at the fun run burke walked one lap with me, i couldn't even get him to jog it with me. then he ditched out and went and played at the playground. thats burke! i dig that kid too.
myas class had a mothers day party for the moms. they all sung us two songs then presented a picture that they drew of their mom. i loved my drawing. the pizza thing is a little confusing though since i think i can count on my hands how many times i have made pizza. hahaha.
mya also had a kindergarten program last week. they sung a lot of songs and every kid had a part or two. she did great! she is defiantly not an animated person. she was hilarious. she sung and knew every single word but never moved. never did the actions. never got into it. but she sung her guts out and knew her part perfectly.
