memorial day weekend...

we went camping last weekend up at grimes creek, near idaho city with the vargas clan. it is so pretty up there right now. with all the snow and rain we have been getting everything is so green. we had so much fun. the kids spent the days hiking, motorbiking, digging holes and exploring. we had some crazy events happen while we were up there. burke and zeek crashed head on into each other. i was standing there watching the kids and heard the loudest smash and crack sound. i ran over to were the kids were riding at and both burke and zeek were laying on the ground. burke was rolling around on the dirt groaning and crying, his helmet was 10 feet away from him, it must of flew off his head in the crash. zeek was sitting there a little dazed. they must of hit tire for tire perfectly because both bikes need new front ends. there was a trail that went through the meadow that they would cruise up and down on. there was a small turn in the trail closer to our trailers and that is where the crash happened. they never even saw each other coming down the same lane until it was too late. its still to be determined on who was in the wrong lane, i think i have heard at least 20 different stories about that crash. burke has a few scrapes and scratches and zeek instantly bruised his chest, good thing he had a chest protector on, it probably saved his ribs. the boys were lucky! the bikes took the brunt of the impact. before that crash happened on late saturday night early sunday morning around 1am ayla woke up and she could barely breathe. we did everything we could to try to get her to be able to clear her lungs, we sat outside in the freezing cold, we watched a movie to try to wake her up all the way. nothing worked and i was getting too nervous so we loaded her up into the truck and chase drove her down to urgent care. thankfully all was well with her and the doc said she just had croup and needed a steroid to help her breathe better, her oxygen levels will looked good. chase was back up to camp with her by 10am sunday morning! i still dont believe it was croup, she never had a cough. ever. but either way, she was all better and never even skipped a beat.
