and just like that may is almost over... 2 more days until summer break, things are starting to wind down finally. it has been one heck of a busy month, hallelujah summer break is almost here.
at the beginning of the month i went with some friends to BYU for women's conference, all 7 of us piled into my car and away we went for 4 days and 3 nights. it was glorious. we rented a house in provo, didn't sleep near enough, shopped until we didn't have any where else to stash stuff to get it home, went to a few amazing classes and some good places to eat. it was a girls weekend for the books.
lacrosse ended a week or two ago, the boys played their guts out in their all day long Saturday tournament and they did great. they had so much fun playing this year. it was fun to watch them get better and better. i think we have a lot of lacrosse games in our future.
mother's day came and went, the kiddos and chase took good care of me. they went all out for breakfast with donuts, breakfast burritos and waffles... silly them. i cant say i was bummed about it. it was awesome. i got lots of cute sweet cards from the kids and a few fun gifts from chase. it was a great day.
i got to go on a field trip with mya and ayla this month. mya and i went to the watershed. ayla and i went to the dairy farm. we had fun on both! the dairy farm was much more smelly and gross... kinda creepy too, not sure if i will ever drink milk again but the water shed was long and boring but educational. they both loved their field trips! ayla loved the farmer. she held his hand the entire time and asked him a million questions. he was so good to her and she still talks about farmer joel.
daxton logan deroin was born, he is completely adorable. being an aunt to two newborns in one month has been so much dang fun. i love both of those boys way too much. daxy boy has been wide awake since the second he was born. it is crazy. when we went to meet him for the first time, only being a few hours old his eyes were wide awake and he was already staring us down. he would track us with his eyes but was so content to just be swaddled and awake staring. he is cute! mya has had a wicked cold so she has yet to hold him but soon enough she will.
ayla lost her first tooth. she was so excited to get it pulled out and didn't even flinch when we jerked it out with some floss. brave little girl. she has another wiggly one and is ready for it to come out too. getting her 2 dollars under her pillow was the highlight of her life, she was thrilled.
tegan's school teacher this year was in a musical at the morrison center so we went on a little date night with some of his buddies and their mommas to dinner and to see "throughly modern millie". miss drake was amazing and the excitement he had every single time she came on stage for all 3 hours was something i never ever want to forget!
that kid, he feels everything BIG. he is awesome.
ayla graduated from miss tammy's preschool last week. she is now ready for kindergarten and she couldn't be more excited to go to school with the big kids. how is she already old enough to go to school! it kills me.
memorial weekend was last weekend so camping we went! it was a BLAST. we went out to the weiser sand dunes with the fuller fam and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. we had too much fun. stayed up until 1am every night, thanks for nothing time change, slept in, played in the sand, dug holes, rode dirt bikes and four wheelers and hunted some carp. tegan got a little too close to the fire when it was lit with the help of gasoline, the heat from the explosion singed the tips of his hair, front and sides, his eyebrows, his mustache and the all the peach fuzz on his face.. it was insane, we are just lucky that is all that happened and there were no burns to report! he said it was the scariest thing of his life. while we were there ayla learned how to ride the dirt bike. she is still too short to touch the ground so she had to start and stop right at chase but she was so excited, pretty good for just turning 5! we all came home exhausted and sun burnt but ready to finish out the last week of school.
