we had our first camping trip last weekend. we went out to the weiser sand dunes with the fullers and had a blast. we hadn't ever been there before so it was fun to explore a new area. the weekend took a turn for an expensive trip pretty quickly though, chase bottomed out the trailer on a small hill on the trail we were going down when we were trying to find a camping spot away from the beaten path. it bent up one of the jacks real bad. we made a make shift jack so the trailer wasn't wobbling all weekend thankfully! then after riding around on his dirt bike for a few hours on friday we woke up saturday to a flat rear tire with the stem missing so no way to attempt to fill it up or fix it. we four wheelered around for hours on saturday until the red engine light turn on in the afternoon and we couldn't get it back off even after cooling it off, and we still arent sure how to fix that problem, then on sunday when chase was loading the four wheeler he popped a wheelie into the truck bed and slammed the four wheeler into the side of the truck leaving a nice dent.
whewwwww.. what a weekend of a disaster.
ohhh.. and did you know that trains still carry huge cargo units and they still run on tracks. our spot was about 20 yards from a train track, it was wishful thinking when we parked there that it was an unused track. friday night i think 5 trains came through from 12:30am-4:30 (i literally was thinking they are all going to run into each other).. they were soooo loud and so huge they would shake the trailer every time they came by and it lasted minutes, massive massive trains.. it was crazy and kinda cool. saturday night only 2 came through, much better, we actually got some sleep, and when i say we, its just me and tegan, everyone else managed to sleep through it all! the kids loved trying to get the conductors to honk when they would come by in the day time.
but, despite all that we still are trying to find a time to go back there again. it was so fun!
