my dear sweet grandma passed away two weeks ago. it was sudden and very unexpected, took everyone by surprise. heck, i was with her the night before and she was fine. she didnt even skip a beat. so to say i was completely blinded sided by the news was an understatement.
Tuesday, July 21 my Grandma had a heart attack, which caused for her to go into emergency open heart surgery. The surgery was successful, they were able to repair the three arteries that were clogged. One was 99% clogged, one was 98% and the other 92%. After the surgery her body began to go into renal failure. Her kidneys started to not work very effectively, her lungs had fluid in them which lead to the rest of her organs beginning to shut down. They inserted a breathing tube, left it in for 24 hours, with no improvements shown in those 24 hours and knowing she never wanted to be kept alive artificially my mom and her siblings removed the breathing tube and waited for her passing. They were told that she may wake up upon removal of the tube so whomever wanted to be there could. I spent Wednesday evening in the hospital with my parents, siblings, uncles, aunts and a lot of my cousins, although she never woke up and we were never able to see her eyes open and talk to her we were still able to hold her hand, say goodbye and thank her for everything one last time. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday night, July 22, close to 10 pm.
To say that the veil was very thin that evening is an understatement. You could feel the presence of those that have gone before, I know that my grandpa was there for her that night, and oh what a wonderful reunion that was, i am sure after being apart for 22 years. My testimony of the plan of salvation grew 10 fold. I am beyond grateful to know that we will see her again, that we will be with her again, that my kids will be able to see their great grandma with the red house again.
She will be missed, she was a wonderful lady who loved her family more than anything else. Family meant the world to her. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, championship sporting event, or a graduation. She was one amazing lady.
