cabin time...

july flew by. the boys start school in exactly one week. ONE WEEK. how is summer already over. how is that even possible. the last few weeks have been busy. we spent a week up at the cabin a few weeks ago. oh how i love that place. and so do my kiddos.

we only had one issue all week. ayla thought it would be a good idea to lock herself in the car. we were getting ready to go in to mccall, everyone was walking to the car when tegan decided that he needed to go to the bathroom so i went back to let him in. i put ayla in the front seat. my keys into the ignition, then went back into the cabin. and then i hear the car honk. well snap, that means she just locked the car. i ran out there to see her sitting in my chair with my keys in her hand smiling away. after a few minutes of trying to get her to push the unlock button she dropped the keys down the crack between the chair and the door. thats when i decided we either had to break a window or start to call someone to come help us. no way she was going to figure out how to unlock the car without the keys. after calling cascade police, we called donnelly police, who then sent us to call the tow man, who just got a root canal done and wasn't going to work that day. luckily, he answered and came to save the day. she got out 30 minutes later without a scratch or even more than 2 tears shed. i think she actually loved being by herself, hamming it up, and eating my steering wheel. - insert anger here- but i was so happy she was okay and even happier that i didn't have to break my window. I magically parked in the shade the night before and it was only 11am when we attempted to leave so it was still cool outside, she actually was cold when the door finally opened. i will never know how she managed to pull the keys out of the ignition and lock the door all in a matter of a couple minutes, maybe she is a baby genius.
