tegan started his second year of preschool today. he was so excited to not have to go to everyone's house this year. he likes the idea of going to violet's house every time all the time. he said that's what the big kids do and he is now big.
handsome little fella... i just adore this little man.
we wrestled and wrestled with the idea of holding him this year. my pros and cons lists weren't helping. i know that he could go to kindergarten and do great. i know that he would love to do preschool again. that learning daily or just twice a week wouldn't matter as much to him as to me. i knew that i would love the lack of daily schooling. why not have one more year to do things on the flip of a dime? we love the idea of him being the oldest instead of the youngest in his grade. i hated being the youngest. last to drive, date. chase loved being the oldest. he was the cool kid, driving in 8th grade.. but do the things that bothered me even matter to a guy? he will now be able to go on his mission (assuming the age is still 18) before he even begins his senior year.. are we insane? who knows. but we love that him and burke will now be back to back in school and mya for that matter, sure hope those teachers like us. that maybe he will be a little bigger instead of the littlest dude in the class. that he has one more year to hang with me and his siblings. and that all his friends will start kindergarten with him now. no one he knew was starting this year. so all in all, maybe we did pick the right decision. he will be one smart kindergartener and will love the day that he can finally go to school all day everyday. but for now, preschool at ms. shimbers is going to be awesome.
