february...

we started the month off by heading to the backcountry with the fullers for a night to backpack snowshoe into a yurt. the yurt was cozy and quaint. we slept on bunk beds, warmed by a fire and played cards well into the wee hours of the night. the hike in was just over 2 miles with a 850 elevation gain. it was pretty intense but super fun! then the 2 miles back out was much easier, downhill was quick. we even rode the sleds down the trail to get to the bottom quicker. it was nice to get out to the mountains for a few hours and it helped that he had perfect weather. it was warm enough to hike without all the snow layers on, it didn't snow on us at all and there was no wind up on the ridge where the yurt is. it was awesome.

we had the biggest snow storm of the year in february. it was awesome. we got close to 10 inches in just a few hours. we finally were able to go hookey bob, make a snowman and build a sweet fort.

we also celebrated valentines day with our tradition of doing dinner all together, this time it fell on a sunday so we didn't get our usual chinese food but we made up for it by attempting to make some home made butter beer... i sure love all my valentines!

mya entered into an extra credit project about lewis and clark and had to build a hand cart that would hold weight and be able to go up a 40% incline. she had to use only things they would of had back then, wood and nails thats all.

the girls played basketball the month of january and february. it was nice to have a little normalcy around here again. since the boys season got cancelled in October we hadn't had much going on. they both did great and were super fun to watch. ayla sprints back full speed every single time a basket is made. its hysterical. mya has gotten so good and blew past all the boys most of the time too, she is so tall she gets every rebound, fast breaks and scores. it's awesome.

and last but not least this boys hair. perms are awesome. his hair is awesome. and the amout of hair he has is awesome.
