flag football. cross country. tackle football. soccer...

we had ourselves a busy busy fall. lots of practices, games and time spent in the car going back and forth to it all. which i have to admit i loved every single second of cheering them on. it always helps when the kids love it just as much as i do too. originally we thought fall would be simple. both boys were going to play lacrosse, together on the same team, with chase as their coach but thanks for nothing, again covid-19, lacrosse got cancelled so we hurried and got them into different sports.

tegan chose to play friday night flag football with an entire team made up of his buddies, chase was the coach with nate, chad and rustin (his buddies as his assistants) and i am not sure who had more fun, the boys or the coaches. i'm still not sure who was more entertaining to watch, the boys or the coaches. they ended up taking 1st place! they were champions!! and his trophy sits proudly in his room. he also decided he wanted to run cross country for the middle school, practices every day after school. he was so good at it. one of the top 6th graders at every single meet.

burke has been dying to play tackle football and since the vargas's signed zach up already we figured why not. he hoped on the football team with zach and away they went. tackle is not for the faint at heart, they practice 5 nights a week for 2 hours and practice was not close, 25 minute one way... lots of time for me and burke to chat. i actually enjoyed our drives together. spending time one on one isn't something i get to do a lot with the midgets. i learned more about cars and trucks then i ever thought possible and this kids life questions are deep. i just love him and his always moving deep thinking mind. he had a phenomenal season. he was all over the place all the time, no one got past him and no one could get him down, he is a tank. he played running back and middle linebacker. he is so darn good at it. it was so fun to watch. he got the golden helmet at the end of the season and was crowned season MVP.

ayla played brayge soccer with 3 of her friends too and got her first ever medal at the end. she was thrilled. when her coach passed out her medal he asked if she drinks coffee in the morning because he has never seen someone with so much energy or who can talk so much. she was a little fire cracker and scored at least one goal every single game.
