the boys had their last and final pinewood derby last week. we decided to have a little family competition, i helped burke make his car and chase helped tegan and we were going to see who's car was the best. may the best builder win type of thing... burke and i's car was a little slower than tegan and chase's car... but im going to blame it on the fact that our car was very over weight so the scout leaders drilled out almost the entire bottom of the car.. that clearly made the aerodynamics of the car off and that is why we lost. duh. we had fun making their cars! oh and chase didnt know how to create a penguin so i did help tegan on his final touches. i love how is penguin turned out! burke and i went a little crazy on the cutting and shaping of the car and it made it a little impossible to add weight and remove it but he was happy with it so it worked out just fine.. i am not sure if he would choose me to be his partner next time though.... he just doesn't know a good thing when he has it...
the same night as the pinewood derby burke also had his school music program. it was a cute program, very short and sweet, thankfully since we had to hustle to get to the pinewood derby. most of their songs were done in rounds with dancing and instruments playing. he had to learn to play the xylophone, but he loved the challenge.
last weekend we headed up for a quick weekend trip to mccall with the stephenson's. we had a blast swimming at the hotel, eating lots of junk food and sledding around on all the snow, there was so much snow!
