mr burke...

little mr. burke had a rough friday. he woke up screaming in the night of his tummy hurting... um. okay. sorry. please go back to bed. im REAL sympathetic at 2 am. not. then he got up super early. he laid around all day. he wouldn't swim. run. the he wouldnt play. laugh. talk. and then his breathing started to get really bad really fast. i started to get really worried really fast. call the pediatrician. got an appointment for 3 hours later. LONGEST 3 hours ever. watching your kid fight for air wasn't the best experience in my little mommy career. (i didn't think it was as bad as it actually was or i would of taken him to the e.r.) good thing he fell asleep in those 3 long hours so all i had to do was hold him and watch him breathe. it took one look from the nurse to realize he needed a breathing treatment stat. his oxygen levels were incredibly low. turns out his stomach was breathing for him, not his chest. his chest was pretty much completely shut down. its a funky thing seeing someones stomach breathing. real funky. it rolls up into their ribs. bizarre. so we are now having to do breathing treatments every 4 hours. he is actually really good about doing them. hallelujah. so his stomach ache was because it was like doing crunches every time he took a breath. sorry kid. who'da known. im just glad its all semi figured out. i did not enjoy the complete panic feeling i had on friday.
