we are ever so grateful for a quick and fast delivery seeing as how the recovery process has been so smooth and easy.. i needed to be able to recover quickly! here is the quick caption of our fun filled sunday afternoon on feb 20... we went to church, came home took a good nap, YAY for naps, and it was around 4 that i thought that i started to have contractions... so i keep going about my day at around 5 they were still coming so i called my mom, told her that i was having contraction but i was going to get in the bath to see if they kept coming so no need to speed over right now but i just wanted to give her a heads up. i got in the bath a contraction came, holy painful, dunno if it was cuz i was sitting down but WOAH. a water birth definately wouldnt be my thing! so i called her back and said nevermind come now... chase packed our bag and once she got there.. LONGEST 15 mins ever... we were off to the hospital.. checked into triage at 6:10 pm to find out that i was already dialated to a 9 and the only thing holding little lady in was my water.. the nurse kept telling me whatever you do do not push or panic with the contractions, she will come out... um.. okay.. she instantly got on the phone to call in the doctor, find my charts, and tell delivery we were coming immediatly. they ran down the halls with me to the delivery room where there were 6 nurses flying around trying to get everything ready, literally sprinting around. i REALLY REALLY didnt want to have a natural birth but i had no choice. i was to dialated and it was all happening WAY TO FAST! the doctor on call.. not even my doc walked in. we said hi, he broke my water, we pushed the next contraction and out she came... wow.. PAINFUL. glad it was only thirty seconds of that.. no idea why people dont get epidurals!!! she was born at 6:44 pm. we had been at the hospital a little over a half hour.. glad we made it there!!
the boys have done so well at adjusting to her. tegan is a huge helper and loves to take care of her, burke well he is still learning how to "be soft".. the first few days he couldnt leave her alone, pulling poking staring screaming in her face, now he barely notices her.. thank goodness!. we were a little worried, glad the newness has worn off! everyone is doing well and we are all getting a use to being a family of 5... that feels so HUGE!
