we were swimming having a ball... playing with toys, floaties, and rafts. i was in a raft trying to win the race of who could get around the little island the fastest.. chase and jared had just blown past us so thats when kenz and i decided it was time to bail out and swim... in that split second of crawling out of the tiny raft somehow my wedding ring slipped right off my finger.. YUP thats right my WEDDING RING! i felt it come off so as i was trying to catch it as it sank like a rock i was yelling for chase. now you must understand that eagle island is no pool.. maybe more like a mold growing overly large pond... its about as clear as cascade lake... and for those that have never been there you literally can only see 2 inches from your face underwater. well to make my very long story short we got all the goggles that we could find and searched the bottom for hours... after many hours and being totally exhausted we called it quits and called a dive shop to see if they would send some divers out to look.. and talk about EXPENSIVE! so we opted out of that plan and instead rented an underwater metal detector... yup we were nerds but for 50 bucks it was worth it!
so after many hours of using that in that merky merky water the boys were ready to call it quits for the night only to resume in the morning.. jared, chase, cameron and marty were exhausted, and in their hours of searching had only found a zipper, bottle cap, and pop tab... on the way out marty was using the metal detector and said that there was a weak signal so cam decided to go under and just see what it was and not even 5 seconds later he sprung out of the water like a dolphin with my ring! so then the geeks with the metal detector, who everyone was already a little curious about, were celebrating so loud that the entire park was staring that them... giving eachother high fives in the water and screaming, on their way out of the water they were holding the ring high in the sky like they had just won a trophy for the whole crowd to see... haha.. can you only picture it...
so hours later and 50 bucks poorer i am the proud owner again of my beautiful wedding ring... i cant tell you how heart broken i was thinking that i lost it... what a blessing that we found it!!
--now just picture chase with a snorkel mask, swimswuit, a little tube so he could go far under and breath, carrying a large rock so he could stay on the bottom, with metal detector in hand walking into the water... now what would you think if you were sitting on the beach or even in the park for that matter.. haha.. oh yah and 3 sidekicks following him.

That is such a CRAZY story. I'm so glad it worked out for you guys. I usually take my ring off and leave it at home because I fear that will happen to me.
